Brendan McGinty is Managing Partner at Stratis Consulting.


Brendan is a leading expert in people strategy, employee relations, employment policy, communications, change management, dispute resolution and public affairs with 30 years of experience backed judgement.


Brendan worked with the business organisation Ibec until 2013, where as a member of the leadership team he had a successful career as Director of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Services. He made an outstanding contribution to Irish business as a leading national representative of business and employers. An as effective influencer, advocate and communicator, Brendan imbues integrity and authority and instils credibility and confidence in clients and stakeholders. He engages with trade unions, government, state agencies, with other stakeholders and as a commentator. He had a central role in the resolution and avoidance of numerous sensitive national disputes both as a member of the National Implementation Body and since.


He is a member of the board of Resolve Ireland and is Chairman of the Board of Skillnets Ltd, the enterprise-led agency and provider of learning networks. He is also Deputy Chairman of the Governing Body of the National College of Ireland. He previously served as a board member of the Labour Relations Commission until 2015 (now the Workplace Relations Commission). With an excellent appreciation of national and European developments, he works with the International Labour Organisation on assignment.

Liam Doherty – PhD


Liam Doherty is Senior Partner at Stratis Consulting.


Liam is one of Ireland’s foremost experts in the area of dispute resolution and holds a PhD from Queen’s University, Belfast having examined conflict management and dispute resolution systems in multinationals. Liam focuses primarily on providing high level Industrial Relations advice and support for large scale restructuring and change management assignments. He specialises in designing and providing independent problem solving and dispute resolution services.


Liam was previously a Director of IR and HR with Ibec having spent over 20 years coordinating and providing service support to Irish business. He has a deep interest in building management capacity in workplace problem solving and dispute resolution. Liam has also been nominated by the state dispute resolution bodies to investigate and to resolve employment disputes. Liam is a member of the Board of the Industrial Relations Research Trust and has also published widely on a range of HR and IR themes.

Brendan McCarthy

Brendan focuses primarily on enhancing organisational effectiveness. He has a history of providing pragmatic and innovative strategies, practices and initiatives to enhance the people contribution within organisations. Brendan has over 15 years’ experience as a consultant specialising in improving organisational effectiveness, whilst also coaching at senior management level. For ten years he was head of HR and operational responsibilities for a leading publicly quoted organisation and a further ten years with Ibec with responsibility for advising employers, training IR\HR staff and setting up and leading the Management Development and Training Services offered by Ibec.


Brendan has lectured in strategic management, business strategy and on HR in the National College of Ireland, UCD and DCU at postgraduate level. He previously served on the Board of the Employment Equality Agency and as an employers’ representative on the Social Welfare Appeals Tribunal.

Tom Doyle

Tom is a senior executive with over 30 years HR leadership and Employee Relations experience in the public and private sectors in Ireland and abroad and especially in the Financial Services sector. He has a track record of significant achievement operating at senior management level in indigenous Irish and multinational organisations. John Guinan, B.Comm. Dip. Psych. FCIPD

John has over 30 years’ experience in the banking sector and previously was HR  Director of Retail Ireland with Bank of Ireland. During his time in Human Resources, he has had experience and management responsibility for all aspects of HR including Selection, Management Development, Assessment, Remuneration, Change Management, Internal Communications, Employee Relations and Strategic HR Planning. For the last 10 years John has operated as an independent HR consultant across a wide spectrum of State and Public companies.
