Brendan McGinty

Brendan is a leading expert in people strategy, employment relations, employment policy, change management, dispute resolution and public affairs with over 30 years of experience.

 

As an effective advocate and communicator, Brendan imbues integrity and authority and instills credibility and confidence in clients and stakeholders. He engages with trade unions, government, state agencies, with other stakeholders and as a commentator.

 

He has had a central role in the resolution and avoidance of numerous sensitive national disputes.He has a deep understanding of workplace relations, employment policy and the application of employment law in a modern economy having been involved in most national reform initiatives and is a serving member of the Board of the Workplace Relations Commission.

 

He is Chairperson of the Board of Skillnet Ireland, Ireland’s national business support agency dedicated to enterprise-led workforce through increased participation in enterprise training and workforce learning development. Brendan is passionate about workforce development issues and helping organisations and workers invest in skill development and to prepare for the ‘future of work’ issues ahead. He has an excellent appreciation of National and European employment policy developments, and works internationally on assignment.

He is a Director of Resolve Ireland and is an Independent Director and member of the Governing Body of the National College of Ireland.

​

Brendan previously worked with the business organisation Ibec, as a member of the leadership team and had a successful career as National Director of Industrial Relations and Human Resource Services.

Liam Doherty

Liam Doherty – PhD

 

Senior Partner, Stratis Consulting

 

Liam is one of Ireland’s foremost experts in the area of industrial relations, employment relations and workplace dispute resolution. He holds a PhD from Queen’s University, Belfast having examined conflict management and dispute resolution systems in multinationals based in Ireland.

 

Liam focuses primarily on providing high level industrial relations advice and support for large scale restructuring and change management assignments. He also specialises in conducting strategic ER Reviews and supporting Employers in resolving complex individual and collective disputes.

 

Liam was previously a Director of IR and HR with ibec having spent over 20 years coordinating and providing IR/ER service support to Irish business. He has a deep interest in building management capability in workplace problem solving and dispute resolution.

 

Liam has also been nominated by the state dispute resolution bodies to investigate and resolve employment disputes. Liam is a member of the Board of the Industrial Relations Research Trust and has also published widely on a range of HR and IR themes.

Brendan McCarthy

Brendan focuses primarily on enhancing organisational effectiveness. He has a history of providing pragmatic and innovative strategies, practices and initiatives to enhance the people contribution within organisations. Brendan has over 15 years’ experience as a consultant specialising in improving organisational effectiveness, whilst also coaching at senior management level. For ten years he was head of HR and operational responsibilities for a leading publicly quoted organisation and a further ten years with Ibec with responsibility for advising employers, training IR\HR staff and setting up and leading the Management Development and Training Services offered by Ibec.

 

Brendan has lectured in strategic management, business strategy and on HR in the National College of Ireland, UCD and DCU at postgraduate level. He previously served on the Board of the Employment Equality Agency and as an employers’ representative on the Social Welfare Appeals Tribunal.

Karl has extensive experience and a successful track record in delivering change and re-structuring in complex employee relations environments.

David Horgan

David is a senior HR leader with a successful track record at both strategic and tactical level, with a pragmatic, business-oriented perspective. He has extensive experience of the development and implementation of significant organisational and cultural change strategies to deliver organisational goals. David has an established track record of successful Employee Relations leadership and change management in complex unionised environments and has significant experience of third-party dispute resolution practice. As a supportive and challenging coach to leadership teams, he also possesses a strong capability in deploying HR and cultural levers to drive performance.

 

David was formerly Transdev’s HR Director for UK and Ireland as part of his 15 year career with the French-based international public transport company. Most recently, he was HR Manager with the Institute of Technology, Carlow.

Joe is a highly experienced Senior Employee Relations Professional with a successful track record of managing employee relations and change in complex, multi-union environments in both the public and private sectors. He was the Employee Relations Manager for Diageo Ireland and previously in eircom. He has a strong reputation for supporting leadership teams in managing IR/ER risks, generating ER solutions and promoting positive ER environments.

Joe has developed ER strategies and tactical solutions to support business and organisational change. He supports leadership and teams in managing change, optimising business performance while fostering a positive employee relations culture. He has extensive experience in workplace consultation, leading Union negotiations and representing employers at the WRC and Labour Court.

Caroline Jenkinson

Caroline worked in the Labour Court in Dublin as Deputy Chairman for the past 22 years, where she adjudicated on employment law cases and on industrial relations disputes between employers and workers. Prior to 1998 she was employed by Ibec dealing with industrial relations issues and social policy.

​

Caroline's tremendous experience and unique track record of success as one of Irelands foremost adjudicators provide us the opportunity to add further value to our work and client engagement through her guidance and perspective. She will help guide Stratis as we target new opportunities and will add significant value to our engagement with clients in leading their strategic employment relations.

Over 20 years of HR Leadership roles, Louise has worked in Professional Services, FMCG, Semi-State Commercial and the Pharmaceutical sector, with responsibility for all facets of Strategic HR and People Management & Development across national and international teams.

Louise has a special interest in working with organisations on their leadership development and optimisation of individual & team performance through programmes that build trust, authentic relationships, and accountability. Partnering with business leadership Louise has designed and delivered bespoke training programmes from shop floor to senior leadership, always ensuring the content meets the business needs and challenges.

Matt Walsh

Matt Walsh is an experienced HR professional who has held senior HR positions in multi-national, semi-state and NGO organisations. He has worked in pharmaceutical, engineering, soft drinks, technology and aid and humanitarian sectors.

 

Matt focuses on developing HR strategies that deliver organisational performance and has a particular interest in the role of organisational culture, employee relations and communications, staff development, retention, succession planning, talent management, and leadership development. He has extensive experience in organisational change, start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, in union and non-union organisations. An experienced non-executive director, Matt has expertise in corporate governance and risk management. 

 

Matt believes that building strong relationships and high trust environments are the basis of delivering business results in the long term. 

 

He holds an MBA and MSc in Human Resource Development.  He has an Advanced Diploma in Applied Employment Law from Kings Inns and a Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors in Ireland.  He is a member of the Institute of Directors in Ireland.
